Cousin Pete's (Club Scene)

It looks like a hole in the wall, but once inside, it feels like home. Located on the corner of Galster and Woodbury, Cousin Pete’s has a quaint neighborhood setting.
From the deer head over the bar to an electronic dartboard even to the televisions around the place, Cousin Pete’s is just down right homey.
Peter Zangari, a Syracuse native, has certainly seen his share of the restaurant business. After receiving a degree in restaurant management, Zangari owned a BBQ house in Florida. He also received an award in Spokane, WA for the restaurant of the year! Zangari has also traveled to Sicily in search of recipes for his restaurants.
“I want to carry on the tradition of the strong neighborhood ale house,” Zangari states. With the old signs stating “Parking Mickey’s Customers Only,” the bar proudly recognizes exactly what it is.
Cousin Pete’s is one of the few in the city to open its doors to the early crowd. It opens at 8 a.m. for those third shifters who need a drink to seal their evening. Cousin Pete’s brings in all sorts of people, including students, who bring their friends in for a drink and a good time.
With happy hour between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and daily hors d'oeuvres, the place fills up at night with a young and friendly crowd.
“We boast two gentleman bartenders here,” says Zangari. The bartenders are actually rated in the top 10 in the city.
With a small kitchen staff, and a quick read for a menu, nothing is lacking in this setting. The menu consists of a half-pound burger for $4.25, 10 wings for $5.95, and even salads.
If you’re looking to let off some steam after a long day or to join the pool league on Thursday nights, Cousin Pete’s is a welcome place to one and all.
